Picking the right or wrong type of paint finish could either mean that you are happy with the whole paint project or end up disappointed. Which then you will have to spend more money to get the right finish you expected to have. The type of finish really depends on the final look you want and the room in your house is being painted. Matte: Sometimes referred to as “flat” coats, this paint has the least amount of shine. This finish is also the least durable and can be damaged in the cleaning process. This finish is best for low-traffic areas, such as dining rooms or areas that won’t be in contact with people, such as ceilings
Eggshell: With slightly more glow than flat paints, eggshell finishes cover imperfections and are more durable than flat finishes. Eggshell paint is great for places with medium traffic, such as hallways, entryways, and living rooms Satin: This paint finish is the most common interior paint finish. With an easy-to-clean surface, this finish is best for common high-traffic areas such as kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, and family rooms. Semi Gloss and High Gloss: Both of these finishes are shiny and reflective, durable, and great for rooms that get the most wear and tear in the house, such as bathrooms, kitchens, and bedrooms.
